After a long hiatus, Lifeontwowheels returns. A long summer of work, a move and a career change have left me with little time over the last few months to write here. I am hoping to change that over the next few months as I continue to adapt and settle in. The blog will make some changes-notably I am now posting at Type Pad and hope to improve the design shortly.
I made the decision toward the end of August to leave my state job (which included personal, sick and vacation time), a very decent pay rate and state retirement in order to live the lifestyle I wanted to. Essentially that boils down to poor, starving college student who is now working as a lifeguard at barely over minimum wage. And I love it. Am I crazy? Yes. I am also young, stupid and (most importantly) unattached which allows me to make such a dramatic change.
The car is listed on Craigslist, with little success in selling it, so far. Hopefully after the election, people may be a bit encouraged to make a major purchase.
Some of my planned future posts will include:
- -Winter Cycling On The Cheap
- -The Perfect Urban Bike?
- - Columbus Goes (Even More) Progressive
Once again, my goal here is simple: to provide positive encouragement to those looking for an alternative in a car-centric society.
